On this page you’ll find stories of successful matches between rescued LRROF dogs and their families.  These stories are written by the families themselves.  We hope you enjoy reading them as much as much as we do! Please note that we post the stories as volunteer time permits.

Annie

My Annie was a mistreated puppy and thrown from a car near a animal vet in Arcadia. She does not trust other dogs but loves all other animals. She has three cats that she shares everything with-food,bed & toys.

Archie

Our house seemed like it was missing something....but what? My husband and I had gone out for dinner on New Year's Eve and I asked him "What do you want out of the New Year?". I expected him to say a new job, or an exotic vacation, but instead he said, simply, "A dog". That was when we got in touch with Lab Rescue. The application process seemed complicated at first, but when we understood that it was so thorough to make sure the dog we chose had a forever home, then we understood. After our application was processed the nice volunteer came to our house for our interview. We were nervous, but we passed with flying colors. Sheryl, the volunteer, began going over the available dogs with us. But my husband already had a dog in mind. Archie, an 8 year old that was on the website. I wasn't sure I wanted an 8 year old, I thought I wanted a younger dog. But Sheryl made arrangements for us to go visit Archie at this foster moms, and that was it, he laid his big head in my lap and it was game over, it was love at first sight. Archie settled right in with us as soon as we brought him home. He is sweet and kind and loving and funny and lazy. He loves to lay around the house and watch SyFy channel. He also loves to go for rides in the car, as a matter of fact if we let him out in our front yard he will go sit by the truck until we give in and take him for a ride. He is an absolute joy and I can't imagine how we lived for so long without him. He went on vacation with us ...
