Hank

After losing our Lab a few years ago and then our shephard due to cancer last July we knew we wanted to adopt another dog, this time from the Lab Rescue. We had to wait until after the summer because I was in NJ until September helping my daughter with her new twins and my husband and I had travel plans in October. We checked the lab rescue website everyday to start our seach for our new family member. Just before leaving for another visit to NJ and then a business trip in D.C. we saw Hank on the Lab website. My husband and I both liked him immediately. We checked everyday to see if he was still available. We decided to go to a Vegan Food festival in downtown Tampa one Saturday, just before leaving for NJ because we saw that the Lab Rescue was going to be there with some dogs. We thought we could start looking at the different dogs that were there that day. As fate would have it when we spotted the Lab Rescue booth there was Hank! We loved him immediately and he seemed to love us and that was the end of our search! Love at first sight! We were told his story, he was abondoned, sick, skinny and had heart worms when he was found. The Lab Rescue brought him back to a healthy beautiful dog! We started the paperwork and he was brought to our house to make sure he was ok with our cat. He was and Hank was ours. Hank didn't have a foster home and was boarded at a donated kennel at Uncle G's in Dover but he did have a handler, Mark, and we were so grateful that they could keep Hank a few more days until we got back from our trip. The day we flew back into TIA we picked Hank up on the way home. Hank has been a perfect dog. He's gentle, kind and gets along with everyone & every animal he meets, including our 18 yr old cat. He's so smart and lives to play frisbee. Hank's life started out rough but you can be sure he lives the good life now!
