Charlie
After we lost our Lab of 17 years and our Lab Dalmatian mix of 14 years we said we would not get another dog again and just live life. After 2 years we found out that life had to include a Lab. We knew we did not want a puppy, nothing against puppies, but at 62 I wanted a dog that was my speed. I did a lot of research and found Florida Lab Rescue on the internet and their site just drew me to them. Their caring stories, the pictures of the rescues and their particular stories. I found a particular dog wearing white leggings. His name was Charlie. Not only did I fall in love with his picture but I fell in love with his name. He looked like a Charlie and he looked like he just wanted someone to love him. Well, he found the right family. We cannot thank Laura and Trish enough for bringing the 3 of us together. The days since Charlie has come into our lives can only be described as joyous! I asked for a shadow and that is what I got. Where I go Charlie goes except at night, he likes to make sure Mama is safe and sleeps on her side until morning when it is time to get up he comes and gives me a big wake up kiss.
One thing I have not mentioned, Charlie is a senior. Just like me. People tend to not want an older dog. Older dogs need a home and love also. You cannot believe how much love Charlie has brought into our home. He makes our days so enjoyable. He is so smart. We have invented indoor soccer with his tennis ball. He has a blast playing. He already has one squirrel that loves to tease him and the two seem to get along.
Well I could go on and on but my wife and I would just like to say THANK YOU to Florida Lab Rescue and all their volunteers. Especially Laura and Trish!!! Charlie would also like to say thanks!
