Hope

We met Hope at the adoption Expo in Tampa in the Fall of 2007. We immediately fell in love with this beautiful white furry lab with a gentle soul. Her foster mother, Cheryl, told us she was a "special girl". That she was. Everyone who met her fell in love with her. But Hope soon had a medical issue....a third degree AV blockage. The vet said she needed a pacemaker. Dr. Spier at FVS fixed her up, and soon she was on her way to recovery. Due to her gentle nature, Hope made a fine therapy dog and received her certification from Project Pup. She became a therapy dog at Morton Plant Mease in Clearwater and she was a popular visitor at the Morgan Heart Hospital where patients related to her pacemaker issues. Patients could touch her pacemaker battery and feel it working. She lived for another four years and worked her magic everywhere she went. She loved squirrels, birds, and the smell of fish on her dock. She passed away a few weeks ago after a long illness. We will again look to Lab Rescue for another pup when we are ready. Thank you for the work you do and for saving such wonderful animals who have so much to give.
