An LRROF Success Story

We adopted Dusty ( aka Flicka) in 9/19. She is great and we love her unconditionally. But she would get lonely and become restless. She was fostered with 3 other dogs. So we applied in March 2020 to adopt a companion for Dusty. We were contacted by Melissa Murray July 20. She said she has a year old male she was fostering and might be a good fit for Dusty. On July 23, we went to Melissa's and introduced Dusty to Max. They hit it off right away.So home he came. He has been a challenge as he was thin at 44 pounds and extremely food driven. Counter surfing and eating the cats food were challenging but he is learning quickly. They play together until they lie down exhausted and sleep. House breaking is ongoing as he did not show need to go out but has gotten the idea that he needs to let us know.He is getting better and daily trips to dog park where he plays hard help.Although we had hoped to adopt an older adult , we are happy with Max as he continues to grow and mature into a great loving companion for Dusty and us.
