Phoebe

I have a heart for rescue animals and volunteered with and fostered dogs in the past, but never found myself in the position to adopt until recently. I was drawn to Phoebe’s (formerly Missy) description; she sounded like the perfect fit for me. In the days leading up to meeting her I was so excited and would look at her pictures over and over. Our meeting sealed the deal that she was the one for me. Since I brought her home, she has been the most loving companion and she makes me laugh every day. She had a rough start in life and came to LRROF after spending the first five years of her life in a horrific hoarding situation; before she was rescued she had never been outside, never felt the sun on her face or the grass on her paws, never knew a loving touch. Her incomparable foster mom Sherri rehabilitated her and showed her how to be a dog and I am forever grateful for her, and for LRROF, for saving my girl. I often ask Phoebe “what did I ever do to get a girl as good as you?” and I mean it - I feel endlessly lucky to have her. She inspires me everyday with zest for life and her happy spirit. I could never in a million years fully articulate what she means to me.
