Sampson

We adopted "Sampson" from you back in April this year. Just to let you know how well he is doing!!! I have enclosed pictures so you can remember who he is. He was one of the litter of pups from Mississippi that were to be "Autistic" helpers He did not go down well with our older grieving dog that we got him for!!! We tried to adopt his sister from you but she was already being adopted, so we went to another rescue & got a year old Dalmation mix for him to play with. OMG!!!! Between them, they have almost eaten us out of house & home....Literally....furniture, walls, clothing...you name it they ate it !!! They should use these 2 as testers for KONG toys..........!!! I USED to hang all my towels & bedding outside on a clothesline to dry!!! that became a tug of war game....WITH MY LAUNDRY!!!! & we have holes in our yard which probably come out at China!!! ..Anyway, they have become partial outdoor dogs!!!......about 4 hours a day...... We have our garage leading off our kitchen at the back of our house so when they are "outside" they are in the garage with a doggie door into the "Dog Yard" ........With all their toys, BALLS & roadkill!!! I HATE outdoor dogs. Dont see the point in an "outdoor" pet?? but I think these 2 are actually happier this way....... Glad to say he didn't take long to housetrain.......didnt do too well in his crate tho.........Neither of them did, I think cos they always wanted to be together?? Sampson, the lab LOVES the pool......about as much as Wallace LOVES a BALL!!!! Luckily, I work at a golf course & they save me all the old balls since we have lost about 2,000 so far out & about in our travels.......We go walks every day & found a "Halti" is the best thing for Wallace's pulling as he is a big dog & Sampson is awful on a walk !!! Thankfully we have a huge private area at the back of our street that they can be off the leash at. So overall, they are both very happy dogs & although we can't wait until they are older & calm down a bit & hopefully stop chewing everything in sight. They are such smart dogs too........sneaky would be a better word!! We have our yard split into 3 , with a pool on the other side from the dogs & although Wallace isn't a water dog he has his moments but also loves to chase around the pool while Sampson is in there swimming or floating with their water toys.......So..we have now CAUGHT him twice bouncing on the fence pickets to knock them out so they can get through the fence, into the pool area....so they can swim UNSUPERVISED!!!!! Total of 4 times there have been pickets burst out but we only caught him red pawed twice!!! So.......Now we have bought all new vinyl fencing & it will be going on backwards, so there is no way they can burst the fence to trespass!!!! I am sure one day we wil look back & laugh at the antics of these 2 dogs........Its funny I cannot remember our last 2 dogs being as "bad" as these 2 .......(but I do remember having to replace a leather couch)????!!!! Anyway.......just wanted to touch base & let you know he is doing well & happy.....We have stuck with him at his worst so we will all be growing old together!!! Thanks for letting us be his family!!
