In Memory Detail

My husband and I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at the emergency vet with our 12 1/2 year old yellow lab, Marley. He was an amazing dog who stole our hearts 5 years ago when we were approved to adopt him. We had just moved to Florida a year earlier and decided the time was right for another lab to enter our life. Well, Marley wasn’t just any lab. We just couldn’t understand how someone could give this dog away. He was a beauty, all 100 pounds of him. Senior dogs are the best. He definitely had received a lot of training in his past. He walked great on a leash, and rarely barked unless he needed to alert us. He loved his tennis balls but didn’t know how to catch them very well. He was our reason to come home every night and enjoy a great walk around the neighborhood where everyone knew his name. Today marks three months since we had to say goodbye as we found out he had prostate cancer that had spread to his lungs and spine. I am still crying crocodile tears. Thank you Labrador
