If you are a driven, ambitious individual with leadership and managerial skills, we would love to hear from you.  We have three primary types of leadership positions.

District Coordinator Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a District/Assistant District Coordinator include (but are not limited to):

  • Coordination of all volunteer activities within the area, sometimes with the help of a Volunteer Coordinator;
  • Coordination of all event activities within the area, sometimes  with the help of an Event Coordinator;
  • Coordination of all foster homes within the area, sometimes with the help of a Foster Coordinator;
  • Approve area expenditures submitted from vet partners in conjunction with accounting;
  • Arrange veterinary care for dogs fostered within the area;
  • Work in conjunction with other areas on transporting or transfers of dogs;
  • Help evaluate and manage the intake of dogs within the area;
  • Participate in monthly phone conferences on the status of your area;
  • Make sure all Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida policies, principals and guidelines are being adhered to;
  • Work with the Director of Operations on problematic situations needing escalation to the board.
  • All District Coordinators report to the Director of Operations for Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida, which is a board appointed position.
  • The average commitment for this position is a minimum of 24 volunteer hours per week, approximately. You must be able to be readily reached via phone and email.

Board of Director Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a Board Member include (but are not limited to):

  • Meet monthly with other board members via teleconference to discuss matters of policy.
  • Actively participate in policy discussions.
  • Review medical treatment proposals and vote on usage of donor funds to perform expensive medical procedures.
  • Effectively manage a functional area of the rescue (Executive Leadership, Fundraising, IT, Public Relations, Operations, etc).
  • Board Members must have or obtain a strong knowledge of how the rescue works.
  • Because of the urgency of some medical procedures, board members must be readily available via email, text or phone.
