About Adoption Counseling 2017-05-19T11:03:38+00:00

An Adoption Counselor is a volunteer who acts as a liaison between an approved family and the organization. The counselors serve an important function, as they are the representatives for the families seeking a Labrador Retriever.

Phone Evaluations

The adoption counselor performs phone evaluations with a prospective family to help determine their eligibility and if the organization can meet their requirements
During the phone evaluation, you can answer questions about the process and addresses the requirements of adopting from Lab Rescue

Home Visits

Follow up with an in-home visit of the family at their residence.
This personalizes the visit but also helps to assess the fitness of the home for a rescue dog.  All family members should be present at the home visit to help identify any special considerations.

Adopter Point of Contact

You will act as an approved families point-of-contact in their desire to meet Labradors that match their criteria
You will also talk with foster parents to determine whether their dog is a match to the potential adoptive family

You would be assigned applicants within a comfortable driving distance of your residence, within the city or areas you specify. All materials and documentation are provided for you, and volunteer position shadowing is available.

ALL LRROF POSITIONS ARE VOLUNTEER BASED (NON PAID) ROLES. VOLUNTEERS MAKE A DONATION OF THEIR TIME AND EXPERTISE TO THE ORGANIZATION, SO THAT THE DONATIONS WE RECEIVE ARE USED FOR THE CARE OF THE DOGS IN THE RESCUE.
